That is common sense or else both the child and the mother may be at risk. A woman with poor health condition should ideally resolve her health issues before conceiving so that chances increase and the risk factors reduce.

[Read: Contraception and Birth Control]

3. Have Sex – getting pregnant of course requires a couple to engage in sexual activity; moreover this sexual intercourse should be unprotected. Having sex thrice a week or even more could increase the chances of pregnancy for a woman. Without the entry of male sperm into a woman’s vagina pregnancy is not possible.

4. Tracking the Menstrual Cycle – keeping track of the day one’s period starts and ends on the calendar each month is a good way of getting prepared for pregnancy. It is important that a woman knows herself and her body so that she can brace herself for pregnancy. To identify and track those few days in the menstrual cycle when a woman is fertile helps her to get to her sexual activity at the right time.

5. Have sex up to 5 days before ovulation – when a woman is ovulating then it is the most suitable time for her to get pregnant. Because sperm can stay in the womb for long, thus sexual intercourse prior to ovulation can increase the chances of pregnancy.

With these simple things kept in mind we wish you luck and Godspeed a little angel in your life.

How Excess Fat Affects Diabetes

Fat is one of the factors responsible for the occurrence of diabetes. By decreasing the intake of dietary fat one can significantly lowers down the probability of getting diabetes.

The hormone insulin is responsible for utilizing dietary fat and to store it as glycogen in liver.  When insulin stops working properly, it causes the fat level to rise abnormally in blood resulting in diabetes. It’s not only the amount of fat that governs onset of diabetes, even the area of fat deposits also play a role in diabetes occurrence.

Generally fat can get deposited in any part of the body including hands, thighs, legs, neck and stomach. When fat gets deposited in the stomach area it causes serious damage. Fat deposits in any part of the body transmit blood throughout the body, but fat deposit near the stomach send blood to the liver only. It’s the liver’s function to remove insulin from the blood. Presence of excess fat near the belly area hinders the functioning of the liver.

The fat cells near the stomach area are insulin resistant. So when the amount of these cells increase, body’s ability to resist insulin also increases. The body becomes incapable in producing insulin which in turn affects the functioning of the insulin.

Insulin receptors are present on the body cells which trigger the production of insulin. Due to the excessive deposits of fats, these receptors become inaccessible. Hence, insulin production gets hindered when required resulting in high sugar content in the blood. Unhealthy lifestyle and eating problems are the two most important factors responsible for fat deposition and finally diabetes.

There are numerous ways by which these excess fats can be cut down easily
  • Proper exercising.
  • Eating a balanced diet rich in proteins, good fats and vitamins helps in reducing the fat content from the body.
  • By regular check-ups, one can remain aware of his/her body weight.

Excess fat or excess body weight indirectly controls the occurrence of diabetes in you. One can easily control the amount of body fat simply by changing his/her eating habits.
